La Cima Charter School was founded on a simple but powerful conviction: schools should be places where students engage in innovative opportunities that support and develop wider community change. Nestled in the heart of Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, La Cima opened its doors as a free public charter school committed to developing scholars who are not just strong students but strong community members.
Today, La Cima serves students in Kindergarten through 5th grade with a progressive, whole-child approach that blends rigorous academics with culturally rich programming. Our scholars benefit from a 9:1 student-to-teacher ratio, monthly field trips across New York City, and signature programs including African drum and dance classes offered to every grade. In mathematics, our students have achieved proficiency 21 percentage points above city and state averages.
La Cima is fully accredited and authorized as a public charter school serving families in Brooklyn, NY. We are tuition-free and open to families throughout the community, regardless of their zoned district school. Every family that walks through our doors becomes part of a community united around one goal: helping children thrive academically, creatively, and as future leaders.
